Sketching For Environment: Wk08
One of our project assignments was to reimagine a Disneyland ride. I selected the "Haunted Mansion" and pushed the environment thinking about if the ride was set in the actual environment.
Above is the first sketch I started with.
Cleaned.
WIP tone- added a few FG elements.

Sketching For Environment: Wk4
This week's assignment is to add lighting on the sketch of Blu Jam I did last week. I started off in charcoal and ended up blocking my lighting in digitally.

Sketching For Environment: Wk3
This week was spent refining the Blu Jam Cafe sketch from last week. The first image is the perspective drawing (apologies for the not-so-great-quality scan) and the second image is the Victorian Art Deco flair I added to enhance Blu Jam's character.

Sketching For Environment: Wk2
This week includes a memory sketch of a restaurant we had been to during the week, a sketch of our neighborhood, a sketch of a modern restaurant and a sketch of a restaurant set in a more historical building. I ended up sketching Aeirloom from memory, going back to Aeirloom to sketch the interior, and then heading over to Akasha to sketch a more historical interior. (A few other sketches at the bottom include Old Pasadena and Blu Jam.)

Sketching For Environment: Wk1
I've just started a new term at Concept Design Academy in Pasadena taking the Sketching For Environment class. This week's assignment is to sketch around our neighborhood, refine our "what we did over winter break" assignment, refine our in class work, and all the while doing 3 quick thumbs before each sketch. We also should be keeping in mind the "deep, limited, and flat" spaces that we went over in class. I'm working on adding more to the second page, but below is what I've currently completed homework wise!
