It's a little different from the original storyboard I put up earlier in March, because I'm trying to get the storyboard to flow better. I guess I thought the previous one was more jumpy? [Like how I used arrows to show movement when I should have just drawn the truck in two different places in two of the earlier shaded panels.] Anyways, let me know what you all think!

Shady Business: Getting Ready for the MICA show!
I shaded in a couple of my Firenze frames and since the MICA exhibition of our SACI work is going to go up on Monday I figured I'd post them up here in case anyone would like to see. I didn't get around to finishing all, but here is a little taste!

Bounding version 2.0!
I finished up the second half of the little Italian truck that I worked on during my study abroad in Italy! Now the little truck is truly bumbling its way down Florence's streets. I don't think I'll ever get over my fascination with those little trucks. It's the ideal clown car.

Coloring Gluttony
I've been trying to translate my Firenze storyboards into digital drawings:
But while I've been working on that I've also been working on coloring in the "Gluttony Cupcake" that I worked on earlier in the summer! Usually I avoid coloring in photoshop because color tends to terrify me, but I thought that I should experiment and try. So, here goes! It's not done yet, but here's a few versions of them in the early stages:

Reworking
I tried to rework certain Firenze shots. After doing these I came to the conclusion that I'm probably not going to use any of these, but I did have a lot of fun drawing the little guy on the moped. It made me want a moped; kind of.

Begin: Three/ Seven Deadly Sins!
Yay for the 7 deadly sins!!! [in this case, the three deadly sins, haha.]
I was wondering if it was bad to have two different styles. I drew the last one, sloth [with the girl holding the wine] not really caring about how I drew the two previous ones, but a friend told me that it would be better to have a cohesive style. I asked another friend who told me that it's fine to have totally different styles as long as you have collections of both [so they make more sense]. Either way I think their advice makes sense although I haven't drawn anything else in the same style as the last one.
I'd like to see if anyone can guess what sin is what drawing!!!

The first one: Vanity/ second one: Gluttony/ third one: Sloth. For Sloth I went along the lines of "not living up to one's potential" thus the graduation picture in the background and the diploma hanging on the wall. I still have yet to develop it though... maybe I should have the frame cracked and the wall dilapidated, etc. hmmmm... I also can't seem to get away from drawing cupcakes. or cupcakes-with-limbs-people-ish-things. Can't wait to color these!!!
As always, suggestions and criticism are welcome~

SNEAK PEEK! [Some] Actual Storyboards for the Firenze Story!
This weekend was spent organizing my drawings/ putting them into Photoshop and typing up what's going on in the story. It was a very productive weekend!!! Here's a link to the previous post that shows some potential storyboards: http://skujubu.blogspot.com/2011/03/potential-storyboards-for-firenze-story.html
I've put up all the storyboards that I've completed so far on my animatedbuzz account: http://animatedbuzz.com/profile/skujubu so please check it out if you have time!!!
These first two storyboards are the first of the story.
The storyboards below got turned into an animation/ animatic, but I'm currently having trouble loading videos onto Vimeo from Italy so please bear with me. I'll get it up soon! I didn't notice it until now, but I'm also thinking that the first storyboard on the page below [to the very left] needs to be panned out and the view the same as the view used in the other two panels on the page. Otherwise it looks too confusing. Agree? Disagree? Other suggestions as to how I can resolve any confusion that might be going on, please let me know!
Here's the Flash I attempted-- I think this is the first time I've drawn directly into Flash [without tracing a drawing beneath it], so this was definitely a learning experience. It was a lot of fun to work on, although the second half is still in keyframe form-- I have to get on that, but I accomplished what I set out to do; communicate the car's motion. I feel so accomplished, haha. Also, if anyone has an innovative, interesting title please holler at me. Until then, ciao ciao!!!
